When a higher level of blackout is required, opt for a blackout roller blind with a top cassette and side tracks.

Made from durable white powder coated aluminium, the top cassette houses the roller tube and mechanism and minimises light leakage around the top of the roller blind. The side tracks act as guide rails for the blind to roll through, ensuring there is no gap between the sides of the blind and the window. Brushes within the side tracks also minimise light leakage from the sides of the blind. The bottom bar is finished with specifically designed end caps which help to slide it between the brushes of the side tracks.

A blackout roller blind with cassette and side tracks also helps to block draughts and prevent heat loss.

Blackout roller blinds with cassette and side tracks are ideal for bedrooms, nurseries, home cinemas, photography studios and science laboratories. They are ideal for light sleepers and night workers, aiding restful sleep.

Please note that the cassette and side tracks may not create total blackout as there may be a small degree of light seepage, mainly from where the cassette meets the ceiling. An even better level of blackout can be achieved by using builder's caulk along the length of the unit after fitting. Total (photo-lab level) blackout is surprisingly hard to achieve, but you can get very close to it! A further optional bottom track can be fitted at the bottom of the blind.

We offer 2 different size cassettes depending on the size of your roller blind and whether it is being motorised. Refer to the table in the Specifications section to see the size of the cassette to be used.

The cassettes and side tracks have a gloss white finish and the chain control has a chrome finish.

You can order a sample of the side tracks for the purpose of helping to measure/mock up on our Side Tracks page. If you are 'direct face fixing' the side tracks to the window frame or wall, you may wish to purchase our Side Track Plugs.

For child safety, our roller blinds are supplied with a chain tidy.
